OXYGEN INFUSION- WHAT IS IT?
The perfect brightening and tightening facial!
The origin of Oxygen skin infusion therapy comes from its medical application in the recovery/healing process of tissue burns in hospitals. Oxygen is known to be invigorating, firming and to stimulates cellular respiration, increasing the firmness of the skin and creating a more elastic, compact and bright appearance.
Oxygen skin infusion therapy is based on the idea that stable natural oxygen increases skin cell metabolism. All cells require natural oxygen, which is made of 2 atoms bound together by a stable chemical bond. This is not to be mistaken with unstable forms of Oxygen, which are otherwise known as skin radicals.
The most commonly found free radical is a single oxygen atom- these are unstable due to unpaired electrons in their outer shell. Free radicals react readily to a chemical process called oxidation. Cell membranes are the weakest to this type of damage, which can be restored by the benefits of oxygen and anti-oxidant nutrients.
Unlike microdermabrasion and other methods of smoothing out the skin to even tone, an oxygen therapy facial does not usually come with the side effects- redness, itching, stinging or burning. The protocol of delivery in order to infuse oxygen into the skin is extremely gentle which makes the treatment a good option to those who have sensitive skin or are not fond of injectables or harsher treatments for wrinkles. After this facial, you can go back to normal activity right away and EVEN apply makeup without worrying how the skin will react!
The infusion of oxygen and vitamins is beneficial for the skin because it enables growth of new cells as well as Collagen. Oxygen facials can also aid in rejuvenating the skin that has been exposed to external pollutants e.g tobacco and other toxins that suck the oxygen from cells. It's also a much cheaper option than injectables, it's also shown to help with the reduction of acne scars as the oxygen helps to create new cells at a fast rate and reduce the appearance of blemishes.
These treatments are most popular for big events such as weddings, award ceremonies and parties!
