Its the most important relationship you'll ever have, make the love you have for yourself a priority this Valentine's day.

With all the fuss and focus on couples and cupids, internal love it often overlooked and its not just singles that make this mistake. Those in relationships can also be at risk of losing focus on that important 'me-time', time to reflect on what you want and who you are.

All long-term relationships take time, effort, and respect. Like it or not, you're in a relationship with yourself all your life.

May as well get to work, so here's our top tips for loving yourself...

Date yourself by taking more time to do the things you enjoy

Whether its a trip to your favourite coffee shop or staying in and reading your favourite book for the 200th time, then do it! Take some time out for the little things you enjoy most.

Compliment yourself

Trust us, It works! Find at least one thing that you like about yourself when you look in the mirror each morning. Hair looks good in that style? Then tell yourself. Skin looking radiant? (well, it should be if you use Flint+Flint skincare *winky smiley*), then tell yourself.

Make your 'treats' a more regular thing

For most people getting a facial or visiting the hair salon is a 'treat' but why should it be. If you love a facial then make them a regular part of your skincare routine, even if its just a do-it-yourself facial at home using Flint + Flint products. Who's says looking after your skin has to be a 'treat'? Certainly not us! Feeling good should be part of your routine.

Don't be scared to have an opinion

Its ok to have an opinion. When you aren’t true to yourself and your opinions, it feels bad. It is perfectly okay to have your own opinions, love then and be proud of them. Opinions helps make you who you are.
